I was preparing celery snacks for the Halloween party at my son's school today and as soon as I chopped this end piece off, I saw such an interesting flower-like shape. And the smell is so fresh! Makes me want to plop this right into a pot of brewing vegetable broth....

The Arnett - Fullen House (c. 1877)

19th Century Gingerbread Victorian with Gothic Revival Style on 7th and Pearl Street in Boulder.

Original cost for this home, a lavish $4,000 back in 1877!

I love this house and have toured it several times. Its now privately owned and lovingly restored by a family.

As you can see the biker riding by in pic - Boulder is considered one of the most bike-friendly towns in America. You can get anywhere in this town on a bike or on foot and not feel like you are about to be run over. We have a wonderful tradition on Thursday nights - whereby, at times, over a hundred bikers meet up at a certain spot to then cruise the town 'en masse' - many decorate their bikes and themselves for the wild ride.

This guys sits atop a new development of beautiful condos right on Boulder Creek. He must be the Guardian of the Gate. Wonderful, whimsical scuplture to be featured on the front of a building. The sculpture continues down the facade and across the balconies of the building. Really special.

This Sunset picture is 2 days old but I had to put it on here. I took this while out shopping with my son for groceries. It shows you how incredible the sunsets and cloud formations are in the Boulder area. Especially in the winter, we have the most stunning sunsets.

Halloween is only 6 days away...This "ghoulie" stands in front of the wonderful shop, Peppercorn, on Pearl Street Mall. Its fun to watch the faces of the children as they catch a glimpse of him when walking by--including my own 2 year old son! Hee hee.......

Sculpture outside the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art
This wonderful little museum sits right on a babbling creek with a charming TeaHouse next door and a lush park across the street.

This is an old barn near Boulder. The farmer, Mr Walker, would pile the hay up to the ceiling and the cattle would eat it from the window above. Now its preserved for people to come and visit.

This is the old Train Depot in Boulder that they recently moved to a new location in order to restore it and make it the center of a new transportation center. It took them @14 hours to move it one block! Apparently it got stuck at the intersection causing a bit of a back up. Glad I was on the other side of town that day! Nice to see old buildings being used for modern projects. We need more of this!
